WHAT A TRIP LOOKS LIKE

5 ROUNDS
DAY 1

Arrive & Village Walk

Afternoon arrival into Raleigh-Durham, check into Pinehurst Resort. Stretch your legs on the putting garden, grab a drink at the bar in the Carolina Hotel, and walk the village to get your bearings — golf starts tomorrow.

DAY 2

Pinehurst No. 2

The centrepiece first — playing No. 2 on fresh legs means you'll actually remember it. Donald Ross's final masterwork is a course you can walk in under four hours at a good pace; caddies are available and worth booking for a first visit.

DAY 3

Pinehurst No. 4

Gil Hanse's 2018 restoration brought No. 4 back to a sandy, open character that makes it the most visually dynamic course on the resort. Afternoon free — most groups use it for a range session or a dip in the pool before a big dinner.

DAY 4

Tobacco Road

Mike Strantz's 1998 design is a 30-minute drive south and plays unlike anything else in the Pinehurst area — extreme elevation changes, massive waste bunkers, and fairways that look like they were drawn by someone who had never designed a golf course before (that's a compliment). Dinner back in the village at the Pine Crest Inn.

DAY 5

Mid Pines & Pine Needles

Two Donald Ross designs separated by a short drive down Midland Road. Mid Pines plays long and honest; Pine Needles is more forgiving but no less beautiful, with the Piedmont pines framing every fairway. Split the group if you want different pace.

DAY 6

Pinehurst No. 10 & Depart

Gil Hanse's 2024 addition to the Pinehurst family is still earning its reputation, but early reviews put it firmly in the rotation — sandy waste corridors and naturalistic greens on the Longleaf property. Early tee time, then a comfortable drive to RDU for afternoon flights.

GROUPS 12+ — For groups of 12+, Pinehurst Resort's group sales team can coordinate back-to-back tee times on all courses — request 7:30am and 7:40am starts to keep your group together without pace-of-play pressure. Block the Carolina Hotel's upper floors for proximity to No. 2's 1st tee.
