WHAT A TRIP LOOKS LIKE
Arrive — Wine Country Check-In
Thursday evening arrival at a Niagara-on-the-Lake inn or B&B — this end of the region has better accommodation than the Falls strip. Dinner at one of the Bench wine-country restaurants to set the tone for the trip.
Niagara Parks Legends — Queenston
Start with the Queenston Course at Niagara Parks Legends — Thomas McBroom routed the back nine with views along the Niagara Escarpment that make it one of the more photographed stretches of fairway in Ontario. Afternoon: winery visits on the Niagara Bench, which runs just minutes from the course.
Niagara Parks Legends — Whirlpool
Whirlpool is the tighter and more technical of the two Legends courses — the gorge comes into play and changes risk decisions on several holes. Post-round, walk the Whirlpool Gorge trail while your legs still work.
Peninsula Lakes & Niagara Falls
Peninsula Lakes gives the group a hilly change of pace from the flatter Niagara Parks layouts — Les Furber made excellent use of the elevation variance in the Fonthill area. First-timers in the group get their Falls visit in the afternoon.
Grand Niagara — Closing Round
Grand Niagara is the longest course in the Parks system and plays more open than the others — a good format for a final-day competition where long hitters can show out. Dinner in Niagara-on-the-Lake's restaurant district before the drive home.
Depart
Easy morning departure — the 1.25-hour drive means you're home before noon if you leave by 9.
GROUPS 12+ — Group accommodation in Niagara-on-the-Lake works best when booked as a block across two or three neighbouring inns rather than a single hotel — the town's boutique properties are better than the Falls hotel strip and put the group within walking distance of dinner. Book 4–6 months ahead for summer weekends.
