WHAT A TRIP LOOKS LIKE
Arrive & Settle In
Fly into San Jose and take the scenic coastal drive down to the Peninsula — it sets the mood immediately. Dinner at The Bench inside The Lodge or Stillwater Bar & Grill overlooking the 18th green.
Spyglass Hill
Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s routing opens through the pines of the Monterey Peninsula before dropping to dramatic ocean holes on the back nine — ranked #13 public course in the US and the best warm-up before Pebble. Caddies available and worth every cent here.
Pebble Beach Golf Links
Walk every step of the most iconic public course on earth. Holes 6 through 10 along Stillwater Cove are as good as any stretch of golf in North America. Don't let anyone in the group miss the Carmel Beach stairs off the 10th fairway.
Pasatiempo Golf Club
Alister MacKenzie's self-described masterwork is 30 minutes from the Peninsula in Santa Cruz — a completely different aesthetic from the Pebble courses, more cerebral and architecturally dense. The evening works well as a group dinner in Monterey's Cannery Row.
Spanish Bay & Leisure
A morning round on Spanish Bay's links terrain is a gentle way to end the trip — or take the day off and spend it in Carmel village and the Monterey Aquarium before the drive north.
Depart
Morning coffee on The Lodge terrace, last look at the 18th, then north to San Jose for the flight home.
GROUPS 12+ — The Lodge and Casanova rooms are the primary group accommodation at Pebble Beach — block early and be specific about which building, as the quality varies. Caddie tip of $150/bag per round at Pebble is the going rate; Spyglass runs about $100. Build both into the per-person cost from the start.
