WHAT A TRIP LOOKS LIKE
Fly In — Tampa & Transfer
Land at TPA and spend the first afternoon in Tampa before making the drive north to Cabot Citrus. Tampa's Ybor City has excellent dinner options — use the first night as a proper group dinner with no early tee time pressure the next morning.
Arrive Cabot & The Karoo
Drive north to Brooksville in the morning and check in. The Karoo in the afternoon — the Florida winter light (flat, bright, and shadowless) makes the sandscape fairways look extraordinary in person. Pace yourself on the first round; the walk is longer than it looks on the card.
The Roost
The Roost's grove-tree setting creates a completely different atmosphere from The Karoo — narrow corridors, shaded fairways, and a routing that feels more intimate and strategic. Morning round, afternoon free for the lodge pool and range.
Karoo Second Round
Second rounds at The Karoo are significantly better than first rounds — the green speeds and wind reads from the day before translate directly to better scoring. Late afternoon, drive to Crystal River for oysters at the waterfront before returning to the property.
Roost Rematch & Caddies
Final round on The Roost with caddies — the local loop veterans know every foot of the grove-tree lines and can save your group several shots per round. Evening bonfire at the lodge if the resort is running one.
Depart
Morning drive back to TPA for afternoon flights to Toronto. Air Canada direct makes this an easy one-day return.
GROUPS 12+ — Cabot Citrus Farms is a walk-only property — make sure every player in your group of 12 is comfortable with 5-6km walks per round before booking. Push carts are available for rent; caddies are the preferred option and the program is excellent. Request a caddie briefing on arrival day so your group understands the pace expectations before the first tee.
